We’ve survived the Christmas build-up!
We’ve survived the New Year come down!
It’s now February and the next big challenge facing us is…
St. Valentine’s Day, of course! 💕
And, no, I’m not being facetious! 😏
Maintaining a relationship, while juggling the numerous challenges of modern-day living with a small family comprised of a tween, a toddler and an in-between (in other words, an eight-year-old), is no mean feat.
It truly is a challenge to set aside time for each other when all you really want to do in your spare time is…
Sleep! 😴
Pre-arranged date nights after hassle filled days wrestling with kids and responsibilities can seem like…
Way too much work!
So, what to do, aside from shelving all thoughts of quality time with your other half for eighteen plus years? 🤷♀️
Well, there is always the brunch option…
Hire some babysitting help for at least a couple of hours over the weekend and escape with your date to the cutest breakfast/lunch café you can find.
Even better, if you happen to be in the vicinity of London, check out at least one of the following sumptuous spots…
1. EL&N London
Ah! EL&N London! 💕
If you could dream up the most idyllic café setting for Valentine’s Day, this would most definitely be it!
Sweetheart sweet wall decor?
Check!
Pink rose flower wall?
Cute neon slogan lights?
Check and check again! 😍
Pink rose heart-shaped hanging decorations?
Check!
If pink is your thing, this place is pure paradise. 💞
And that is all before you manage to tuck in to the most beautifully presented, mouthwateringly delicious brunch you will have tasted in quite a while! 😋🤩
As an extra special treat, why not finish the whole heavenly experience off with a perfectly pink latte (made from a dash of rose water, sweetened condensed milk and beetroot juice) and a detectable heart-shaped miniature strawberry cheesecake?!
The only two words suited to such culinary decadence?
Simply sublime! 💞
Ooh, and look how Instagrammable it all is!
With branches dotted around the city from Brompton Road to Park Lane, this café could quite seriously become an addiction!
The only downside?
The queues! 😐
As it is a huge hit with bloggers, social media types and tourists alike, only the most patient will be rewarded with a coveted pink velvet seat!
Maybe not the best option for my exceedingly impatient hubby then… 😉
2. Peggy Porschen
Well, there is always Peggy Porschen, which is situated in Chelsea and Belgravia.
Equally beloved by celebs, like Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson…
Equally pink…
And undeniably Insta-worthy! 📸 💓
Who could resist?!
Well aside from my hubby who would probably not appreciate the extra long queues that I would have to airbrush out of my Insta snaps… 😐
Never mind, there is always…
3. Megan’s
Great coffee! ❤️
Great food, great service, great ambience! ❤️❤️❤️
There’s fairy lights, flower walls and celeb spotting opportunities aplenty…

Shush! 🤫
Let’s keep this as our little secret though…
Because, you know, the hubby, the queues! 😬
I couldn’t bear for yet another one of my havens to be turned into a no-go zone! 😢
Now, if they are exceptionally well-behaved, maybe just maybe, we could share the day with the toddler…
Or the tween?
No, strike that!
In spite of considerable parenting experience that has enabled us to come up with The Ultimate Do and Don’t List for Toddler and Tween Tantrums…
It would quite simply be out of the question!
Some memories are…
Just not for tarnishing!
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

This post made me really want to visit London!
Aw! So glad you liked it! There are some super cute cafés here! 💕
The EL&N looks so romantic! I love that heart-shaped miniature strawberry cheesecake!
It tasted just as good as it looked! EL&N is always a real treat! 💕
